Bethany was born on 22nd April 2010 at 2.28am. She weighed 7lbs 4ozs and was beautiful. Bethany was very alert and had a good breastfeed, soon after birth. Around 12 hours later Bethany was taken to the neo natal unit in Basingstoke as she was finding it hard to breath. She was then transfered to Southampton on the 23rd of April were she was having many different drugs and on a ventilator. We had to make the hardest decision of our lives, which was to turn the ventilator off, we had found out that Bethany had suffered extensive brain damage. Bethany then passed away peacefully on the 24th April 2010 at 9.48pm. Becky and I would like to make Group B Strep (GBS) more known to people, to avoid this infection from affecting other families.
